Barbara Higgins-Dover, author of the recent children’s book Catfish Cookies, will present a reading and signing at Oread Books. The author will present a short activity for children based on themes from the book, followed by the reading.

Catfish Cookies: Recipe Title

 

Describe your recipe. For example: This is a quick and simple cookie dough that you can easily freeze for later use. Makes great holiday cookies. This recipes make around 24 medium sized cookies. Warning: Eat too many and you may become obese.

 

Ingredients

 

  • 3 cups flour
  • 1 cup water
  • 4 tablespoons catfish lard 
  • etc... 

 

Instructions for the construction of the recipe. For example: Sift all dry ingredients together into a large mixing bowl. Stir wet ingredients together and heat until just warm (110-115 degrees F). Slowly mix wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and mix until just combined. Turn out onto a lightly floured surface and knead lightly. Cut into shapes, put on cookie sheet and cook for 15 minutes at 365 degrees until golden brown.
