In the final analysis, .commUNITY is interested in developing the Structures and Processes necessary to transition from the Old to the New World. What does this mean? The Ekosystem is the Structure... and you need to solve, or at least be conscious of, the Problem of Emergent Structure in order to create Ekosystems... This requires precision with respect to the Processes you utilize... So far the best methodology I have seen are Social Labs related methodologies.... #Ekosystem #dotccommUNITY

GoDaddy, the web-services provider with the upstart attitude, is making a return to Super Bowl advertising after sitting out Super Bowl 50 this year. The company plans to run a single 30-second commercial in the first half of the game, said Barb Rechterman, GoDaddy’s chief marketing officer, in an interview. “We finalized the deal within the last month or so,” she said. “We are fast and furious on the creative side.”

Bob, regarding the nice biogeography visual. Step one is define the problem. I believe that is the hardest part. In design situations once the problem is framed correctly, the design solution emerges very very quickly with relatively ease.
I've seen newbie designers go right to the solution or worry about making an elegant piece. All very nice, but if they don't define the problem it's a nice piece of art, but usually useless.

Not federal or business or states' rights. HumanBeing rights. Personhood starts with confidently expressive kidhood and self discipline and consequences learned.
This is the opposite of authoritarian parental and grandparental control.

My concern is usually about going to scale. Human personhood is reaching critical threshold on the ground. When power constraints loosen, it will scale the same way the air comes out of a balloon when you release tension on the neck. On the other side it might be released with a pin prick. Still too early too tell. I am a glass half full kind of guy... so it will probably be all ok, and very fast.

A serious game or applied game is a game designed for a primary purpose other than pure entertainment. The "serious" adjective is generally prepended to refer to video games used by industries like defense, education, scientific exploration, health care, emergency management, city planning, engineering, and politics. For over 30 years, televised Fred Friendly Seminars added a unique dimension to public affairs programming on PBS. Exploring a wide range of urgent social and public policy issues including affirmative action; health care and end-of-life issues; national energy policy; and bioterrorism; or ethical issues facing journalists, attorneys, doctors, the military, the Seminars invited PBS viewers to struggle with gripping hypothetical dilemmas drawn from real scenarios facing Americans. The timeless quality of the scenarios makes them relevant to many issues we face today. Please contact us to learn more about the programs and to find out how to order or view them.
The Seminars always begin with a little story and a problem that could confront almost anyone. The implications of this problem, whatever they may be, then ripple out to encompass larger and larger issues and trigger ethical, emotional, legal, and public policy questions that overlap and sometimes conflict. Each Seminar program features a carefully chosen panel that contributes professional expertise as well as personal experience to the discussion. As the panelists wrestle with the issues presented in the hypothetical, they are encouraged not just to say what they think about an issue, but to say what they would do in difficult decision-making situations if they were personally involved. The viewers are along for the ride, intellectually and emotionally, as the story creates a link for citizens between their lives and issues in the headlines that so often seem remote, abstract and unconnected to their day to day concerns.

Facing History and Ourselves was created by educators in 1976 in Brookline, Massachusetts, to engage students of diverse backgrounds in an examination of racism, prejudice, and antisemitism in order to promote the development of a more humane and informed citizenry. Facing History, then and now, envisions a word shaped by knowledge and compassion, not bigotry and hatred. The next generation can be taught the skills they need to create positive changes in the world before crises occur, not after tragedies take their tolls.

Afterword. I went here in the early 70's. Learned everything I've been focusing on for decades...from Megatrends neighbor futurist John Naisbitt and the staff and students. That plus my pioneering family (biomed, journalism, community building including YMCa plus a joyful hammy spirit) plus my ancestral resilience gives me the peace of mind and everyday discipline, prep skills, math and social story structure logic...without the stress of cog bias fog.
This is why I will go alone for #December2remember. My life is my body of work. Daytime TV gets it. (I promoted and grew that daypart along with helping to take all major analog networks and many major market radio and TV stations and publications into the digital world...first as a paid intern and then as a market reader and market maker in news, programming and sports at CBS and then at the MTV creative agency and then with my own shop of up to 70 employees...beginning with my mom's sudden death in 1987. 30 years, two kids and a failed marriage later...this launch is for me and how I was raised and taught. My bucket list has one challenge in it: To make it easy for everyone to work creatively and work in community and make money by being recognized for what they can accomplish.
White privilege and black privilege and yellow privilege are worlds apart. I can live and thrive and create in all three. Time to turn on the afterburners!

The Neuroscience of Singing
Singing has been proven to reduce stress and anxiety and strengthen human connection. Science can now tell us why.

From the link..
he neuroscience of singing shows that when we sing our neurotransmitters connect in new and different ways. It fires up the right temporal lobe of our brain, releasing endorphins that make us smarter, healthier, happier and more creative. When we sing with other people this effect is amplified.
The science is in. Singing is really, really good for you and the most recent research suggests that group singing is the most exhilarating and transformative of all.
The good feelings we get from singing in a group are a kind of evolutionary reward for coming together cooperatively.
The research suggests that creating music together evolved as a tool of social living. Groups and tribes sang and danced together to build loyalty, transmit vital information and ward off enemies.

About to post a short series of videos and would appreciate your feedback. They're short clips of myself sharing brief thoughts about the use of social media to instill a desire to openly discuss climate change and sustainability issues. The poor production quality of the idea is intentional, to be as human and common as possible, and overall intent is for a discussion to brew around personally relevant contributions to the overall umbrellas of climate change, through personally produced short-videos, tweets, instagram photos, facebook posts, etc. Going to post these videos to my facebook page, just seeing your all's views for potentially greater potency to be added.
