1. If you already have expetise relevant to a current policy decsion, you can inform other citizens through the media, public forums, and articles.
2. If you work in education or the media, you an help students or the public to gain some understanding of therelation of science and technology to policy issues.
3. If you have no relevant expereince, you can try to become better informed about one or two issues.  
4. Encourage your church, club, labor union or civic group to sponsor a public forum or discussion series and include speakers with varied institutional affiliations.
5. Work through a political party to select and elect candidates for local and national positions nd  to present platforms that  reflect your political agenda.
6. Join and suport a national organization that deals with both human and environmental IMPACTS of technology.
7. Look at both human and environmental IMAPCTS of your own lifestyle and resource use.
